After the inactive (Salk) vaccine in 1955
and the active (Sabin) vaccine the cases of polio dropped quickly. In 1960 2,525 cases of polio were reported (In just the
US) but in 1965 only 61 cases were reported. And think that was in 1965, today more and more people have chosen to get a vaccine.
Almost all of the polio virus has been eliminated.
